THE SMILE

Having the chance to paint a huge mural in public space comes with great responsibility. I usually leave after completion, while people in the neighborhood have to deal with it on a daily basis. In comparison to wall murals, the ones on asphalt bring a greater interaction level. My main goal was to create an artwork that is first and foremost fun to walk on. I wanted to create a safe place for young and old to meet and have fun moving on all kinds of bright colors and abstract shapes. I wanted to create an environment that brightens up peoples days.
